Anchora Terms of Service


Anchora is a service designed to allow you to load, archive, post, publish, email or otherwise transmit web pages, information, data, text, code, software, music, sound, photographs, graphics, video, messages or other materials ("Content"). As an Anchora user, we expect that you will use the service for its intended purpose, act responsibly, behave appropriately and respect the rights of other users. By using the Anchora service, you are agreeing to be bound by these obligations.

Anchora.info (Anchora) reserves the right to update and change the Terms of Service from time to time without notice. Any new features that augment or enhance the current Service, including the release of new tools and resources, shall be subject to the Terms of Service. Continued use of the Service after any such changes shall constitute your consent to such changes. Anchora may make material changes to this document and note them only here. Enforcement and interpretation of our terms and conditions will be at Anchora's sole discretion, in good faith and using common sense and reasonable judgment.

User Accounts

  • You must be 16 years of age or older to use the Anchora service.
  • You agree that any and all user information provided during the registration process is true, accurate, up to date and complete. You also agree to update and maintain your user information so that it is true, accurate, up-to-date and complete.
  • Your account may only be used by one person: you – a single login shared by multiple people is not permitted.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your user name. You will not share your account information with others, you will maintain only one Anchora account, and you will keep your password private.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password. Anchora cannot and will not be liable for any loss or damage from your failure to comply with this security obligation.
  • Anchora reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account, in whole or in part, or prohibit your further use of the Service, at any time for any reason.

Content and Copyright

  • You, and not Anchora, are responsible for all Content that you load to Anchora service, including without limitation content you load to Anchora public archives, blogs, message boards, website profiles, search results, categories, or other parts of the Service.
  • You are responsible for all content you include in your collections. You will ensure that you either own or have the right to use any content, of any type, that you collect. You must not add any content, of any type, to your collections that you do not own, have a license to use, or is not in the public domain.
  • Anchora claims no intellectual property rights over the material you provide to the Service. Your loaded profile and materials remain yours. However, by setting your pages to be shared publicly, you agree to allow anyone to view and share your relevant Content information.
  • You must not add any content, of any type, to your collections that is obscene, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, tortuous, defamatory, vulgar, libelous, illegal, or otherwise inappropriate.
  • You must not use the Anchora service to store or transmit worms, viruses or any other code of a destructive or deceptive nature.
  • You must not include any content in your collections that interferes with the operation of the Anchora service.
  • You must not create or collect content for the purpose of manipulating, confusing, or altering Anchora's data analysis, search, or connections algorithms.
  • Lists being "Public" may be promoted and linked by Anchora as example uses of the Service. These lists may also be indexed by search engines.
  • Anchora does not pre-screen Content, but Anchora may either make private or delete any content in your collections for any reason and reserves the right to alter content to comply with the Anchora policies.
  • Anchora and its designee may, but have no obligation to, refuse or remove Content and Accounts containing Content that Anchora determines in its sole discretion are unlawful, offensive, threatening, libelous, defamatory, pornographic, obscene or otherwise objectionable or violates any party's intellectual property or these Terms of Service.

Use of Anchora Service

  • Your use of the Anchora service is at your own risk. The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
  • You must not abuse, threaten, harass, intimidate, impersonate, slander or libel any Anchora user, Anchora employee, or the Anchora service itself.
  • You must not use the Anchora service for any illegal, unintended, unauthorized or unacceptable purpose. You must not, in the use of the Service, violate any laws in your jurisdiction (including but not limited to copyright laws).
  • You must not use the Anchora service for commercial purposes without Anchora's prior consent. You must not use the Anchora service to collect user names for any purpose.
  • You will not do anything that interferes with the normal operation of the Anchora network or the networks of our partners, agents and access providers.
  • You must not modify, adapt or hack the Anchora service or modify another website so as to falsely imply that it is associated with the Anchora service or Anchora.
  • Anchora can determine what constitutes violation of these terms at Anchora's sole discretion. At its discretion, Anchora may take any action available to use, from warning you, to deleting your Anchora account or blocking your access to our service.
  • Anchora may contact you (for example via the email address you provide during sign-up), to notify you about system updates and service messages, as well as to respond to your requests or feedback.
  • You understand that the technical processing and transmission of the Service, including your Content, may be transferred unencrypted and involve (a) transmissions over various networks; and (b) changes to conform and adapt to technical requirements of connecting networks or devices.
  • Anchora does not warrant that (i) the service will meet your specific requirements, (ii) the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, (iii) the results that may be obtained from the use of the service will be accurate or reliable, (iv) the quality of any products, services, information, or other material purchased or obtained by you through the service will meet your expectations, and (v) any errors in the Service will be corrected.
  • Anchora shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages, including but not limited to, damages for loss of profits, goodwill, use, data or other intangible losses (even if Anchora has been advised of the possibility of such damages), resulting from: (i) the use or the inability to use the service; (ii) the cost of procurement of substitute goods and services resulting from any goods, data, information or services purchased or obtained or messages received or transactions entered into through or from the service; (iii) unauthorized access to or alteration of your transmissions or data; (iv) statements or conduct of any third party on the service; (v) termination of your account; or (vi) any other matter relating to the service.
  • The failure of Anchora to exercise or enforce any right or provision of the Terms of Service shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision. The Terms of Service constitutes the entire agreement between you and Anchora and govern your use of the Service, superceding any prior agreements between you and Anchora (including, but not limited to, any prior versions of the Terms of Service).

To facilitate the healthy growth and operation of the Anchora services and ensure compliance with these terms Anchora, in its sole discretion, has the right to suspend or terminate your account and refuse any and all current or future use of the Service for any reason at any time. Such termination of the Service will result in the deactivation or deletion of your Account or your access to your Account, and the forfeiture and relinquishment of all Content in your Account. Anchora reserves the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason at any time.
